First, we will meet for a consultation to see if we both feel like we could work together. I will listen intently, ask questions about your life and relationships, and start to get a sense of who you are. I have found that meeting in person for a full 50 minutes is the best way to get a sense of what it's like to work together. If you decide to move forward in scheduling sessions, I will bill you for the consultation. If it's not a good fit, then I won't bill you. At its heart, therapy is about connection - showing up, being seen, and stepping into the courage it takes to explore your life honestly. I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can bring your whole, imperfect, beautiful self. Expect curiosity, compassion, and conversations that help you live more aligned with your values. At minimum, I work with people once a week; some people find that coming 2 or 3 times a week can bring more continuity and momentum to the the work.
Not at all. You don’t have to hit rock bottom to ask for help. Therapy can support you when you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready to grow. Whether you’re navigating big life transitions or just sensing that something’s missing, it’s brave to reach out.
The relationship between us is one of the most important parts of the work. I encourage you to listen to your gut: do you feel safe, understood, and respected? In our first sessions, we’ll explore your needs and goals, and you’ll have space to ask questions. Therapy is a partnership, and you have every right to find a good fit.
There’s no one-size-fits-all timeline, but change takes time. You aren't going to be cured - you aren't a ham. Humans are delightfully and frustratingly messy. Some people come for a few months to work through a specific issue; others stay longer for ongoing support and deeper exploration. Together, we’ll check in regularly to see how things are going and what feels right for you.
I'm not here to give you a to-do list or fix you - because you are not broken. Instead, I walk alongside you, helping you uncover your own wisdom, identify patterns, and make choices that align with your values. I may offer tools, strategies, or insights, but you’re always in the driver’s seat.
That’s so human. Many of us have been taught that vulnerability is weakness, or that we should handle things on our own. But here’s the truth: vulnerability is the birthplace of courage, growth, and meaningful change. It’s okay to feel anxious — and you’re not alone in that.
